One with You by Sylvia Day

Rating: Three stars
Series: Crossfire 5
Date published: April 5, 2016
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Erotica

Synopsis from Goodreads:
Gideon Cross. Falling in love with him was the easiest thing I've ever done. It happened instantly. Completely. Irrevocably.
Marrying him was a dream come true. Staying married to him is the fight of my life. Love transforms. Ours is both a refuge from the storm and the most violent of tempests. Two damaged souls entwined as one.
We have bared our deepest, ugliest secrets to one another. Gideon is the mirror that reflects all my flaws ... and all the beauty I couldn't see. He has given me everything. Now, I must prove I can be the rock, the shelter for him that he is for me. Together, we could stand against those who work so viciously to come between us.
But our greatest battle may lie within the very vows that give us strength. Committing to love was only the beginning. Fighting for it will either set us free ... or break us apart.
Heartbreakingly and seductively poignant, One with You is the breathlessly awaited finale to the Crossfire saga, the searing love story that has captivated millions of readers worldwide.

Finally we reach the end of the Crossfire series. I find myself way too happy about it. I feel conflicted over this series. I was unhappy when it went from a trilogy to adding two more books onto the series. I didn't really feel like it was needed at the time, but I feel the opposite way now. The final two books allowed Eva and Gideon to grow so much more as a couple. Their relationship became a lot more than just sex and screwing up, which made me happy.

However, the only thing that happens in the final two books is stabilizing for both Eva and Gideon. That's it. There's not much of a plot and whenever some hint of a plot would arise, it was quickly pushed aside. These books are just the day to day life of Eva and Gideon

Perhaps my greatest mistake was reading One with You right after reading Captivated by You. I enjoyed Captivated by You because of what a light read it was, but two light reads back to back? I found myself bored and I had to push myself to finish it.
